Friday's Five - Vacation Is Here

It's Friday and as you are reading this, I am either up at 3am getting ready to head to the airport or in the throws of traveling with two toddlers. Wish us luck. I can't wait to share my travels with you all and a tips/guide to traveling with toddlers.

I am linking up with Karli and April.

One. I FINALLY bought a dress for the wedding at the end of this month. I had every intention on renting one, but I waited until last weekend to make the purchase (I was trying to find better coupon codes). The Kate Spade dress was still there in my size, but my back up size was gone. No worries, I would just settle on my size and the one below just in case. And then on Instagram, a shop that I follow and was going to buy the beautiful blue backless dress from was having a sale and had new dresses in. I found two dresses that were very Spring like and that I loved. Plus the price with the 25% discount they were offering was...$59. A steal and less than my Rent the Runway dress with discount and shipping ($80). Here is the beauty that I will be wearing and arrived at my doorstep on Wednesday (it's beautiful in person!).

And I can wear my blush heels from Nathalie's wedding with it. I can't wait to wear this beauty. What do you think?

Two. I received a makeup VoxBox from Influenster and it was filled with three lipsticks from The Amuse Bouche Collection. Whenever we have an event, date night or girls night, I get the chance to pretty myself up with one of these lipsticks. So far my favorite is beetroot, but pepper is a close second.

Three. Stefanie over at Lexie Loo, Lily, Liam and Dylan Too, recommended these bibs for toddlers who are messy eaters. I seriously can't wait to buy them since our girls are constantly staining their clothes (stain stick is a staple in our house) with food. She says you can use them for painting and craft projects too. Sign me up! And 2 for $10 is a steal. I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Four. I have a bunch of guest posts coming your way in the next two weeks. Everything from toddler activities to a yummy cocktail recipe. You will definitely want to check out all of these amazing ladies. On Monday, I will be doing a guest post over at Work it Mommy where I bare my soul. I will be talking about my birth trauma, how it affected me and ways of dealing with it. Please check it out.

Five. Missed my posts this week? Catch up below.
Monday - Weekending
Tuesday - 10 on Tuesday - 10 Things I Learned from Parenting Twins (this is a good one and not to be missed!)
Wednesday - Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
Thursday - Confessional Thursday

I hope you all have a good weekend and next two weeks. I hope to comment back on all of your comments. It just may take an extra day or two!

Mexico Must Haves for Toddlers

Mexico is fast approaching and I couldn't be more excited. We have the girls passports, my husband renewed his passport, and mine doesn't expire for many more years.

We are all set for Mexico. Except, we have never traveled with toddlers anywhere far. Nor have we taken a flight with the girls. This will  be interesting. We have only had an overnight to the Bay Area and a week in Graeagle (cabin camping). So I have been making a list of things to take for the girls. Some essentials. Please pipe in if I am forgetting something important.

The girls grew out of their cute Target bathing suits before summer ended last year, so we had to get new bathing suits. Other mommy bloggers told me a two piece (shirt and bottoms) with rash guard was the best. So we went with iPlay in pink (with pineapples) and light blue (with a birdie). They are going to be so cute in these. Plus they have a reusable diaper as bottoms.

We have a pool at our condo, so we needed to tackle floaties. I think the girls are still too young for the ones that go around their arms, so we went with a float. This one has a 35 pound weight limit, so it will be perfect for the girls. And it folds up nicely to put into our luggage and not take up much room.

We have a massive (and amazing) stroller for our girls, but we need something lighter and easy to travel with, so after some research, we went with an umbrella stroller for each girl. I looked at the really cheap ones (around $19) all the way to the more expensive ones ($150). We settled on the Kolcraft. It looks like it has taller handles (for my 5'9" and my husbands 6'2" heights), venting in the back with the hot Mexico weather, cup holder and large canopy.

Every time we go out to eat, we bring the girls disposable placemats and they are a life saver. Our girls will sometimes eat off a plate, but they also like to throw the plates, so we put down a placemat and put their food right on the mat. And when we are out, we are often asked about them. Once the girls finish eating, we take it off (it sticks to the table) and it allows for easy clean up and ability to hide their mess.

The girls are transitioning between using their bottles and sippy cups. We are experimenting with all sorts of sippy cups and so far only two they have taken too (here and the one above).

The girls needed some sandals and when I was at Babies R Us, I couldn't help but get them these cute flip flops. We have other shoes that we are bringing but these will be perfect by the pool and when they are in their strollers.

We still need to get hats for the girls and I have a few in mind. I like the one above because it has an easy closure to ensure the girls don't untie their hats. We also threw around using a baby baseball cap, but then they wouldn't cover their ears. So we are searching, but this one is at the top of our list so far.

And of course we need sand toys for the girls. These get amazing reviews and may be a part of the girls Easter baskets!

These are also on our packing list for the girls in Mexico:
Clothes
Diapers (which we are thinking of having my in-laws buy a huge box once they arrive)
Wipes
Snacks (snack mix that I will make using Gold Fish, Puffs, Yogurt Melts, Cheerios, Freeze Dried Fruit)
Towels
Lotion
Nail Clippers
Shampoo/Body Wash
Wash Clothes
Sunscreen
Sheets
Blankets
Wubba Nubs
Toys
Travel Changing Pad

Am I forgetting anything that you can think of?
