Stitch Fix Box 3

I got another Stitch Fix haul in because my last box was a dud. I thought I would share this box with you as well. Again, I wanted to go over the details on how to get yours if you want to try it out.

If you haven't heard of Stitch Fix, let me tell you a bit about them. You pay a $20 styling fee that can be used towards the purchase of your items that are sent to you. You can create Pinterest boards with styling inspiration, you can go to the Style tab and say if you like outfits or not, you can tell your stylist what you are in the market for and you can take the quiz to give sizing/likes. Then you get a preview (this is new to me) of what is to come. If you don't like something, you can change it out or have a new box made.

So what did I get?

41 Hawthorne Corinna Brushed Dolman Knit Top
41 Hawthorne Corinna Brushed Dolman Knit Top - $40

When I saw this in the box, I liked it. Though I have a few shirts like this and we are headed into warm weather. We are averaging temperatures in the 70s right now (minus last week) and will be approaching the 80s to 90s very soon. So even though I liked it and the girls loved it, it is going back as I won't get enough use out of it until Fall. But I do have to say that this shirt is so soft and hits right at the right spot. If it was Fall/Winter, I would keep it. RETURNED

Just USA Berkley Frayed Shorts
Just USA Berkley Frayed Shorts - $45

I saw these and thought they are going back since I just bought two pairs of jean shorts from Target. BUT then I put them on and they fit like a glove, were comfy, cute, not too short and I had to keep them. And the girls said I HAD to keep them. KEPT

Colette Romey Cold Shoulder Knit Top
Colette Romey Cold Shoulder Knit Top - $34

This looked like a regular shirt to me until I saw the sleeves on it. Then it upped it. I like the color a lot and the fit of it. I do wish it was a bit cheaper, but overall, I really liked it. It is soft and would be perfect with some slacks, heels and a statement necklace or with a pair of denim shorts and sandals. KEPT

Toms Jutti Neat Flat

I saw these and knew I had to have them, BUT then I tried them on and they were tight. I got my normal 8.5 (even though this is a new normal for me as shoes are made quite smaller these days) and it felt like my toes were scrunched at the ends. Maybe since they are a pointy (but not too pointy) toe shoe, then you need to size up. The girls wanted me to exchange them, but I am on the fence about it. Should I go up half a size? Or just return? UNDECIDED

Fortune + Ivy Lighton Zip Detail Mixed Material Blouse

I pulled this out of the box and it looked like a few work tops that I already have. I loved the color, love the zipper, but wasn't as much of a fan of the top part and how it is see through. It is hard to tell, but you can see the bra straps a bit and that is a no-go for work. So I had to send this back. RETURNED

Overall, this was a better box for me. I did keep two items and I could have kept two others if it was the right season and the right fit. Have you tried out Stitch Fix yet?

Stitch Fix Box 2

For this box I asked for some dresses that could be worn to work or on the weekends. I also asked for shorts and I took a shorts quiz to let them know my style. I also asked for a few tank tops.

My stylist came through on giving me items that I requested, but kind of missed the mark as I had taken quizzes to help with my style. I said I hated Bermuda shorts and I got one pair of those. The others were fine.

So what did I get in my second fix?

Papermoon Basima Back Detail Knit Top
Papermoon Basima Back Detail Knit Top - $30

At first sight, I thought this was a great shirt for me. I loved the criss cross detail, the material and color. But after trying it on, it was very flowy and wide in the midsection. So it ultimately went back. RETURNED

Sanctuary Deva Button and Tie Front Cotton Tank - $48

When I saw this, I thought it was completely my style and it is. It looked great on and I was almost going to get it until I saw almost the same exact shirt, by the same company on sale at Macy for $36. $48 for a tank top is way too much. RETURNED

Mavi Gina Bermuda Short

I took these out of the box and knew they would go back. I am not for the bermuda short trend. I did try them on in the above pictures and the one below. RETURNED

Lilly Pulizer Callahan Knit Short 5"

I am not a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer trend but I thought these were actually cute and fun. Perfect for golf. They fit well, were super comfortable and didn't really feel like they were 5 inches on the inseam. But in the end, I am not paying $68 for shorts I would only wear golfing. RETURNED

Kaileigh Amandine Knit Dress
Kaileigh Amandine Knit Dress - $50

I didn't think this dress was that great when I pulled it out of the box, but the fit surprised me. I think the "style/pattern" isn't that great for me, but the fit was perfect. I just wish it came in a solid color or a different print. It was also the perfect length on me and didn't show any cleavage which is a huge deal when looking or RETURNED

So overall this wasn't a very successful fix, but I did find a type of dress that I would like and now I am looking for it in a more solid pattern or a pattern that I like more.

And since I returned everything, Stitch Fix is sending me a new box in hopes that I find something I like this time. UPDATE: I just viewed the preview and it was awful. I wrote a note on what I didn't like and what I need and was way more specific about it. I guess we will see when the new box comes in.

Have you tried Stitch Fix before?

Stitch Fix #3

I received my Stitch Fix recently and I never got around to blogging about it. Especially before I had to make my decisions on what I wanted to keep and return.

What is Stitch Fix?

Basically it is a shopping service. You take a quiz (even price range) about your personal fashion style, pin items to your Stitch Fix Style Board and send a message to your stylist about things you want included (maxi dress, jeans, work clothes, tank tops, etc.) or events you are attending in the future. You schedule a fix and pay a $20 styling fee which goes towards any items you keep. And if you keep all 5 items, then you get 25% off the entire box! So then your stylist works on a box for you. It is sent to you to try on at home with your own items from your closet and in the privacy of your house (plus no unflattering dressing room mirrors).

Super simple and a great idea especially if you need to change your style, don't have time to go to stores or you keep buying the same styles of clothing over and over. Your stylist will send you things you might not think you would like, but the idea is to try them on and see what you think. You might just be surprised.

Want to try Stitch Fix? And you feel like helping this momma out? You can use my referral link and I can get a $25 credit. And let's face it, this momma needs all the help she can get with having twins.

Onto Stitch Fix #3.

Item #1 - Laila Jayde Maddison V-Neck Split Back Knit Top
Laila Jayde
I pulled this top out of the box and liked it at first. The fabric was soft and the darker blue was perfect for Fall. I wasn't so sure about the split back (because I can't wear that at work, but figured I could always put a cami under it). Then I put it on and it was awful. The picture doesn't even do it justice. It was really boxy and super short on me. If I lifted my arms up even a little bit, my stomach showed. Verdict: Returned.

Item #2 and #3 - 41Hawthorn Kenny Faux Leather Trip Open Cardigan and Just Black Faye Skinny Jeans
Just Black Skinny Jeans
When I saw the color of the cardigan, I was in love. I also loved how big and comfy it looked. I wasn't too excited about the leather trim, but figured it wasn't a deal breaker. I put the cardigan on and loved it. It was perfect for Fall and Winter. I can wear it to work, but still wear it out on the weekend with some skinnies, t-shirt and boots. Verdict: Kept

Now onto the skinny jeans. I was super excited to finally get a pair of Just Black skinny jeans. I had pinned a few pairs in hopes of getting one. Well it worked. I pulled them out of the box and was surprised that they were grey. No biggie. I wanted new colors anyways. I tried them on and they were very stretchy and so comfy. They were a little big (they bunched at the bottom) but it wasn't a deal breaker. I contemplated these all the way to the post office. I just couldn't seal the bag until I knew for sure. Verdict: Returned. I only returned them because I won't get as much use out of grey jeans. I would have loved black or another color (so I could wear them to work), but grey doesn't fit into my wardrobe and at $88, I just couldn't keep them. So sad. Having major regret here.

Item #4 - Pixley Tammi Keyhole Dress
I was excited to see this dress as I had pinned it to my board. I wasn't too sure about the no sleeves since we are going into Fall and Winter, but knew I could throw a cardigan over it. I put the dress on and thought well this is awful. Then I realized I needed to tie the waist. And it was still awful. I liked the length of the dress, but the way it bunched up top after being tied, the tied waist itself and the overall look just wasn't what I thought it would be. Verdict: Returned

Item #5 - Octavia Tina Checkered Infinity Scarf

I didn't even take a picture of the scarf (because I forgot), but knew that I wouldn't be keeping the scarf. I loved the color, the look and feel of it, but I just don't need any scarfs. I have a few that are very similar and they don't get enough wear as it is. If I didn't keep the olive green cardigan, I would have kept this so my $20 style fee didn't go to waste. Verdict: Returned

This stitch fix had its goods and bads, but I feel like my first two were more spot on for me. This one wasn't as much me. Maybe a different stylist next time or I need to up my game on pinning. And I definitely need to remove that keyhole dress from my board.

Stitch Fix #2

I got my second Stitch Fix in the mail yesterday. I was really excited about it, even though I am not supposed to be spending money (on anything). But I figured if I really loved items, I could ask my parents to buy them for me as a birthday present.

Ok, onto my July Fix.

Here is the note my stylist sent me...
Hi Danielle! I love your Pinterest board! I'm sending you new pieces to try using your Pins as inspiration for you Fix requests :) For skinny jeans, try the DL1961 denim. They are on the pricey side, but will last forever, have great stretch and are super flattering. Try them on with the summer top options. The cobalt, lace detail blouse reminded me of some of the lace items from your board. The yellow embroidered striped tank is a more casual option and I thought it would be perfect for you're taking care of your little ones! For dresses, for your summery occasions try the teal green crochet dress with a pair of nude heels. I love the bottom hem and how it's sheer. Lastly, I had to send you the pink maxi and I think the length will be perfect for you to stay comfortable and still look chic. Let me know how it goes! xo, Elyse

#1 Brixon Ivy Jarred Lace Detail Cap-Sleeve Blouse - $68.00 and #2 DL1961 Senuri Straight Leg Jean - $168.00
First, please excuse the poor mirror selfies (my husband busy was at his softball game winning the championship to take photos). I pulled out the top and loved the color. I wasn't sure if I would like the lace detailing as my girls love to pull and chew on my clothing, but I really like the way it fits. I could wear it with slacks for work, jeans for going out, or even buy a pair of white skinnies for a fun summery look. And as for the jeans, I loved the feel, but I am not loving the price. I don't mind paying a lot for jeans if they fit, feel and look good (which these do), but I am transitioning between pumping and not and I am afraid I will gain some weight. The only thing other than the price that I don't like is they are a higher rise. So I am very much undecided. What do you think? Verdict: Undecided.

#3 Le Sample Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank - $38.00
When I pulled this top out of the box, I didn't know what to think of it. I knew it was super soft and something I wouldn't normally chose for myself, but after putting it on, I loved it. It is flowy, soft and great to wear while taking care of my girls. Plus it would look great a pair of shorts too. Verdict: Undecided.

#4 Brixon Ivy Donya Crochet Dress - $88.00
I loved this dress when I first saw it, but then I tried it on. First, it doesn't fully zip up on the sides because of my large "milkers". And since I have large ones, it fit awkwardly at the waist. It was too big and frumpy. I did like the bottom where it is sheer showing off the pattern of the dress very well. Verdict: Returned.

#5 Tart Shaina Maxi Dress - $98.00
I am in love with this dress. I love the colors, fabric cut and everything about it. Except, I am thinking it is a bit low cut for me. Maybe because of my mom milkers? This picture doesn't do the dress justice. But my boobs feel and look huge in this. What do you all think? Verdict: Undecided.

So here is where you all come in. I need help deciding what to keep and what to return. Keep in mind that I want things that I can wear for awhile, wear with a lot of options and I can get my money's worth out of them. I have until Friday to make my decision, so please help me.
