Happy Friday! So Phil says we have another six weeks of Winter, but Staten Island Chuck said Spring, so I am going to hope that Chuck is right this year. I am so over the Winter. It is freezing out. We have had extreme lows, like much of the US and so much snow. It was 4 degree when I drove to work on Tuesday and we have more snow coming Sunday. Over.It.
Onto Friday Favorites and Happenings.
ONE. I had a gift card to Rothy's that has been sitting in my inbox since early December. I also had a $20 off coupon to use, so I combined them and bought some new pointers. I love the pointed flats. I have them in pink, black and now a taupe color. These are the best shoes to travel with and wear daily. After a work trip, I pop them in the washing machine (take the soles out and wash both) and they are as good as new and don't have all the street gunk from wherever I was.
I also have a pair of the classic flats that I love just as much. I just tend to wear the point ones more since I feel more put together with them on. I normally wear a 8 1/2, but I sized up to a 9 in the Point.
Here is the ones I got.
TWO. I went to Old Navy last week to find something to wear to a funeral (I didn't find anything) and I came across this sweater. It was super cute in person, and on sale, so I grabbed it. It is sold out online, but if you go into a store, you just might find it. It is on sale for $19.99 (originally $49.99) and then an extra 35% off, making it $12.99.
THREE. I feel like all I have done this week is shop. Ha. But everything I got was either on sale, or I had a gift card for. But I got another pair of the Spanx leggings. I got the navy blue ones last time and I got the caramel (tan) ones this time.
I wore the navy suede leggings this last weekend to the funeral I attended and they were so comfortable. They hike up your booty and suck in your mom pooch. They felt amazing on. I had bought a size medium tall and I think a small would have been fine too.
And since I loved wearing those so much, I promptly wore my faux leather leggings on Sunday with my Niners shirt and bought the tan color. They are still on sale, but I did get the navy ones for even less since they had an extra 30% off at the time. This time, I only got an extra 15% off. Still so worth it.
They are perfect for work, date night or being casual. Now I am waiting for the flare perfect pant to go on sale.
FOUR. And now for a nose update. I saw my plastic surgeon on Wednesday and it was definitely a more helpful appointment. My doctor isn't concerned about the septal button. He said that my ENT could put it back in later or I could leave it out. It isn't affecting the structure of my nose, but he did say it was bigger than the last time he saw me.
As for my breathing problem, he says it is my nostrils collapsing. He did some breathing tests by making me breathe in deep, then putting the nose tool in and doing the same thing, then pulling the tip of my nose up and breathing in deep and so on. Every single time, my nostrils collapsed. Basically that means, that my nostrils pinch in towards my septum (the middle part of your nose). My right side is all the way and my left side is almost all the way.
He said to fix that I would need alar grafts. He would do this by taking cartilage from my ear (the left one this time) and putting it around my nostrils (inside) and on the tip of my nose. The tip of the nose one is a layered piece that will sit horizontally and keep the structure of my nose and nostrils in place.
So basically this is what I should expect:
FIVE. Weekly funnies.
Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.
I need to try some Rothy's. I love the sweater you grabbed, and what a steal! Perfect for this month. Or anytime, really. Sorry to hear about ongoing breathing problems. I hope that they come up with a fix that is more permanent for you.
ReplyDeleteYou really do. Or don't as you will become addicted. I have four or five pairs now. It was a steal. I just feel like it needs to dry laying flat as it could lose its shape easily. I have some good news on my nose. My hole is closing up!!!
DeleteI love your Rothy’s. And the funnies. Happy Friday. Regine

ReplyDeleteAnd a great steal too. Thank you so much! I sure hope it gets fixed soon. I did get some good news on it that I will share later this week.

ReplyDeleteThank you. And a good deal. I am all about shopping deals.
DeleteOh I hope Chuck is right too! That heart sweater is so cute. Sorry you have to have yet another surgery on your nose...
ReplyDeleteRight? It sucks, but I did get some good news on my nose.
DeleteI have those spanx leggings and they're so comfortable! Love that darling heart sweater you got! I'm glad you are getting your breathing issues addressed and hope you have a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
They really are and so cute. I am very happy too. I just hope I recover quickly and can move on!
DeleteI'm glad your doctor's appointment was helpful, but, yikes, that looks like quite a procedure! At least you got some fun into your week with the shopping! Love the suede leggings! And LOL def agree about starting my day with a run! NO THANKS.
ReplyDeleteOh it is quite the procedure, but I can't think about that really. I just need to focus on getting better. I am not about working running in the morning. Ha.
