Well we survived another week in quarantine. We are all getting a little stir crazy and our governor just announced that he was extending our stay at home order until the end of April. Looks like we will be working from home (still) for the next month.
We haven't been shopping much online, but we have bought a few things. Some of them are listed below and I hope that they may help your family too. Some are nothing big or even practical, but some are definitely useful.
Onto Friday Favorites and Happenings.
ONE. Happy early Birthday to my mom. Tomorrow is her birthday and we don't get to see her or celebrate with her. We haven't seen them in forever. But hopefully, when this is all over, we will get to celebrate all of the March and April birthdays that have been postponed.
TWO. I love The Office. I have been every episode many times and we often watch it on Netflix when there is nothing else to watch. This week on Instagram, a friend posted her Hydroflask with a bunch of Office stickers on it. I asked her where she got them and she sent me the Amazon link. It comes with 100 stickers and they are funny. All of the classic lines, costumes, etc.
I bought them for my Hydroflask and now the girls want a few of them. Ha. But my Hydroflask is at work, so I won't be able to dress my Hydroflask until I am able to go back into the office and clean it thoroughly.
THREE. Even though my girls are not in school yet, they are still in pre-k and they were still learning a lot. These first few weeks of quarantine, we haven't done much learning. They do have their Kindle Fire Kids with a subscription to learning games, but I also want to keep them at the level where they should be. So I went onto Amazon and was able to purchase them Kindergarten workbooks. They start Kindergarten in August and were already way ahead in their pre-k class. So once these arrive, we plan to do some work in them each weekday. This is the one I chose for the girls.
FOUR. Another quarantine essential was a weighted jump rope. I have a regular jump rope, but Rory's broke a few months ago. I got him this one as a birthday gift and he loves it. It lives up to the reviews. It is only a pound and a half, but it is weight in the rope part, so it makes it a tougher work out. He said he was huffing and puffing while using it.
We have been taking walks, playing basketball at the school by our house, jump roping and doing some stretches and yoga at home since we haven't been to the gym in weeks. It definitely has helped, but nothing beats the gym. Or maybe I just need more home workouts.
FIVE. Alright, I finally convinced my husband that we need an air fryer. He kept telling me that we had no space for it, and I said it can go in the garage with the Instant Pot when we don't use it. And I use that thing a lot. Plus, I told him that we can make french fries in it and have them taste so much better than the ones that come from the oven. So please, tell me which ones are your favorite. And any recipes that you love.
I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything and Becky.
Have a great weekend!
I need the weighted jump rope. ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt is really fun to use. I like that it is way harder than a normal jump rope.
DeleteWe were also thinking about doing some combined birthday celebrations for the ones we are missing. We like Highlights so I'll have to look into that book. I also have another son that will be starting kindergarten in September. I hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteYep, so you know how important it is to keep them learning and engaging. My in-laws have that same Highlights book at their house and the girls love it. I hope we can get through all of it before their school year starts.
DeleteI found a youtube workout program that I like but it's still not comparable to the classes I do at the gym!
ReplyDeleteOh can you send along the link?
DeleteIf you already have the Instant Pot and storage space is your husband's concern, I recommend the Air Fryer lid/attachment for Instant Pot! It was on Amazon last I saw and I think Target? It seems to be new and I think I ordered it within the first week or so it was available haha. It works SO well and just turns your IP into an air fryer with just a lid and basket insert.
ReplyDeleteReally? I will look into this. I love that idea. Thank you!
DeleteI have the the Ninja air fryer and it is the most used kitchen appliance besides the stove now!!! It makes everything better, homemade fries, frozen fries, brussels, chicken, everything!!!! I have a few workbooks for Zoe here, but at the rate we are going, I am going to need another. Will check out the highlight one!
ReplyDeleteThey make the highlight one in younger years too. I will look into the Ninja air fryer. I can't wait to get one!
DeleteI am a convert to the air fryer myself! I just received one at my bridal shower and now I'm hooked. At first I didn't think I needed one but a few bridesmaids insisted I put one on my registry. Chicken is my favorite thing to cook in it right now! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAmanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
Which one did you get? I can't wait to get one.
DeleteHang in there, friend! You got this!! Love that weighted jump rope; may have to add that to my list! I feel like I have been online shopping SO MUCH MORE right now because it is one way that I feel happier due to everything going on. Not the best way to go about things, but it does help, lol!
ReplyDeleteI have shopped a bit, but I feel like I might shop more because I want to bring more joy in my house. Ha. I totally understand that. The jump rope is amazing.
DeleteI think they are giving us hope one month at a time...It's been 3 weeks here and I think that we're unfortunately in this until at least June! Hope you guys have a fun weekend ahead even though at home!
ReplyDeleteI really hope not, but I am not sure when we can get out of it. What is the air fryer that you have?
DeleteOoh I want an air fryer, please let me know how you like it! I am so ready to leave the house! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI will let you know which one I get and what I think. I have heard nothing but good things about it.
DeleteOooooh let me know what you make with your air fryer! I've been pondering one, too. Also, jump ropes are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely review it. I can't wait to get it. Fries and food will never be the same. Ha.
DeleteI am so glad to come across another blogging twin mumma! My twins just started kindergarten this year and we have loved doing their reading, writing etc from those bumper workbooks. They love tracing and dot to dots most at the moment. Hope you're all well!
ReplyDeleteI love that we are both twin moms! Thank you for reminding me of the dot to dots. We love those. How are your twins holding up not being in school?
DeleteWe have an air fryer but unlike everyone else we don't seem to use it much at all. I think because if I'm honest it works just like a convection oven and I have one of those (plus the air fryer requires hand cleaning and my pans don't!).
ReplyDeleteI have a convection oven and I can't ever get the fries to be amazing. But I totally get it.
DeleteI need to pull out my air fryer & try more things with it - I wasnt all that impressed with ours - but I keep seeing things people make & I'm like, IT CAN DO THAT? :)
ReplyDeleteA weighted jump rope? I do good to use an IMAGINARY JUMP ROPE :) LOL
I just think we both need to get some great recipes for it. I have heard that veggies are amazing in it. Hahaha I love the imaginary jump rope.
DeleteThe workbook looks good! So many of them are sold out here, but lucky I had a few of them from birthdays and Christmas and always stocking up when they are on sale, haha! I'm trying to help the boys with them so they can learn while I work from home but it's tricky, trying to do so much at once!
ReplyDeleteHope that you had a lovely weekend :) We all stayed home and stayed safe, hope you did too.
Away From Blue
It is sooo tough to do all of this at once. I hate when they bother us when we are working, but they get bored and it is tough on all of us. The workbooks I need to stock up on them more now that they are starting school this year.
DeleteWe did stay safe too!
I love the Brain Quest workbooks.. I get one four each child during the summer.. they are big so they work on them over the summer and through the year as well on days of and during long holidays.
ReplyDeleteOH I will look into those ones too. Thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteThat jumprope is amazing! We have a similar one and it has been getting some major use! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI feel like it is the only thing keeping me getting my heart rate up at this point. I need to get more things to do at home while we are stuck here.
DeleteI liked reading about your favorite items. I think I want to try the weighted jump rope you mentioned. I've heard it is a good workout.
ReplyDeletePerla Lifestyle Blog
Thank you. It really is a great jump rope and gives you a great workout.
DeleteB and I just started watching The Office again. We've tried before and couldn't get into it but everyone we know just LOVES it so much so we're going to give it a shot again. I'm hoping to love it because I could use a mood booster right about now. And happy birthday to your momma! I hope you can celebrate with her soon!
