Another weekend gone and a short week ahead. I can't believe we are already in July. And sorry about the late responding to comments and commenting on your blogs. Sutton got pretty sick on Thursday and it was just me here to take care of her. Blogging went to the wayside.
Anyways, let's back up to Wednesday night when I took the girls to pizza for a little pizza date. We had a great time. Well until the drive home when the girls fought over what they wanted to watch...Frozen, Mickey Mouse Club House or PJ Masks. Ugh.
Thursday morning Sutton woke up and said her tummy hurt. So we got ready and I kept a watch on her, but she seemed fine. I dropped them off at school and a hour an a half later, I got a phone call that she had thrown up at school. Ugh. So I left work to go get her. She was pretty sick. I left Avery at school so she wouldn't get sick too.
Sutton and I went home and I bathed her, washed her clothes and bedding (she threw up on those at school) and then we hung out. But she kept getting really sick. Lots of throwing up and super irritable. It was so sad. She was screaming for her daddy, but he was in Minnesota. I didn't have anyone to help me out other than my sister should I need her to pick up Avery later in the day. It was heartbreaking watching Sutton be THAT sick.
I took her to the pediatrician since the stomach bug was going around and they prescribed some zofran. After her appointment, we picked it up at the pharmacy along with some Gatorade and crackers. She didn't eat really anything that day.
Around 5 pm, we went to get Avery from school and then headed home to watch some shows. I wanted to keep Sutton calm and Avery busy since she wasn't sick.
Since she threw up, I had to stay home on Friday as well. We dropped Avery off at school and then went to breakfast. Sutton ate about 2 bites of her scone.
Then we went to the park to kill sometime before going to Gymboree to exchange some clothes for the girls. We also stopped at Lululemon and Loft. I didn't want to keep Avery home just in case Sutton was still feeling sick, but she seemed ok. She didn't eat though.
Right before Sutton went down for her nap, Rory got home from his work trip. Thank goodness. I was sooo exhausted from the week and Sutton being sick, that I need a minute to myself.
Sutton napped while Rory took his dry cleaning in and picked up Avery. Once Sutton got up, she wanted her princess outfit on, so I happily put her in it. Not long later, Avery came home and wanted hers on.
After everyone was home and settled, the girls got some gifts from Rory and I headed out to a fundraiser event for dogs. It included wine/beer/liquor, a silent auction and food. It was a lot of fun.
Saturday morning we got up and went to breakfast before heading out to the lake for the day. My parents and friends were out camping and we wanted to spend the day with them. We went on the seadoos, played in the water, and hung out. The girls had a blast. We left just after dinnertime. Once we got home, we bathed the girls quickly and then put them to bed.
Sunday we got up and got some pastries and did lots of cleaning around the house. Kind of a late Spring/early Summer cleaning. We cleaned the windows inside and out, vacuumed, swept and mopped everywhere, cleaned the bathrooms, did laundry and cleaned the kitchen top to bottom. It is nice to have a clean house!
In between, we took the girls to the park. Sutton fell on her face off the swing, so we called it a day there and went to lunch. We went to a sandwich shop before heading home for nap time. The girls napped and I caught a 30 minute nap as well. Then I went grocery shopping. Once I was back and Avery was up, I did a bit more cleaning and then started making dinner. We had stuffed peppers and strawberry shortcake for dessert. I made the whipped cream which Sutton loved, but Avery didn't as much. She did like the angel food cake. Ha.
After dinner, we got everything ready for the week and then put the girls down. Then I took Walter for a walk and saw a steel art piece in a neighbors yard (a few streets away).
After coming home, we watched The Affair and then went to bed.
How was your weekend?
Ugh so sorry Sutton was sick - seeing them sick is the absolute worst. :( Hope she's feeling much better now and Avery didn't catch anything! How do you like The Affair? I'm kinda intrigued by it.
ReplyDeleteIt is sooo heartbreaking to watch them be that uncomfortable. Ugh. She is feeling better. Thank you. I love the Affair. It is definitely a favorite of mine!!!
DeleteLOVE your dress from that charity event...and your hair looks fabulous - I wish mine would look so sleek and smooth, haha! Glad to hear that Sutton perked up!
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you. It was from a local boutique here, but they have an online store. It is called Nomad Boutique. I used a lot of hair spray to get it to stay that way. Ha. And thank you!!!
DeleteI am so sorry that Sutton was sick, but glad Avery steered clear.
ReplyDeleteMe too. That would have been way harder if Avery had gotten sick as well.
DeletePoor Sutton! And poor Mommy! So sorry she got sick while you were single parenting. That is so tough. I’m glad she’s on the up and up now!
ReplyDeleteSooo tough, but luckily we did survive. I am sooo happy she is back to being herself and healthy again!
DeleteI'm sorry Sutton got sick. That happened to me once when Dave was away, on his way home, so he landed and got texts from me that Gabbie threw up everywhere - great greeting for him!
ReplyDeletehaha. That is how I felt when I was calling and texting Rory. Just not fair to him to have to see that and not be around, but she only wanted her daddy. :(
DeleteOh man... not stomach bugs already going around. Glad it didnt seem to get anyone else though!
ReplyDeleteIt is really bad right now. Ugh. I am sooooo glad none of us got it either.
DeleteWe had the stomach bug going around at my convention last week, it is the worst. I had a touch of it, but that is way worse when a wee babe has it, glad she is felling better!
