And just like that we are half way through the year. How are we in the last week of June already?
We had a pretty good weekend. Short, but good. Friday after work, I grabbed some lunch and then headed to Target and Petco. After coming home and unloading everything, I picked up the girls from daycare and then headed home.
After hanging out at home for a bit, we decided to go get an early dinner and then head to the park with the girls. It was a hot day, so the girls didn't want to stay too long. After getting home, we opened a bottle of white wine and started the tv show The Staircase after putting the girls to bed.
Saturday morning we got up and had donuts that Rory had picked up the afternoon before. Then Rory mowed the lawn while I cleaned the bathroom. The girls played and then we all got ready and went to the outlets to exchange two rompers for dresses and then shop around some more. We got some killer deals this weekend.
The girls wore dresses that I picked up from Target the day before. Lindsay mentioned a cute watermelon dress for her daughter and I knew I had to have one for my girls. They only had one dress, so I bought another equally as cute dress. Plus the girls let me put their hair in pigtails for about 10 minutes. Ha.
After shopping, we promised the girls Chick-fil-a. We ate and then they played until it was almost nap time. Then we headed home where the girls napped for about two hours. After we got up, we headed over to my in-laws house for pizza, playing in the sprinklers and hang out time because my SIL and nephew were in town.
After coming home, we put the girls to bed and watched another episode of the Staircase.
Sunday morning we got up and headed to the beach. My SIL wanted to go to Tahoe, so we all went as a family. And I am happy to report that the girls were on their best behavior. We played in the water, made sand castles, ate lunch and played some water games. It was a great time. We got there just before 9 am and were there until just after 2 pm. The girls napped on the way home.
We got home and I quickly showered while Rory and the girls relaxed. Then I headed out to the grocery store since we needed to stock up the fridge. While I was gone, Rory bathed the girls and got laundry started.
I got home and made spaghetti with garlic bread which we all gobbled up. After cleaning everything up, we got the girls ready for bed and then read bedtime stories. I spent the rest of the evening doing laundry, prepping for the week ahead and then we watched The Affair.
Pretty easy going weekend. How was your weekend?
Easygoing weekends are by far the best weekends - and it looks like it was a great one! Those little girls in their dresses are too darn cute, and I'm swooning over those lake views!
ReplyDeleteI love their dresses so much. I love that they love dresses finally! I love that lake. It is my favorite place to be!
DeleteThe girls dresses are adorable! So glad you had a nice relaxing weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThank you. The girls are loving all the dresses!
DeleteThose flamingo bathing suits are to die for! I love a cute back on a suit. How do you like The Staircase? I saw it on Netflix and thought about checking it out, but decided on Jane The Virgin haha. Glad you had a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey are from Gymboree. Soooo stinking cute. I love the back on them as well. My MIL got them for the girls. I am really liking The Staircase. It is eerie, but good. I love true crime stories though. I would watch the first episode for sure. Rory didn't want to, but 5 minutes in and he was hooked. Ha. I love watching Jane the Virgin. Total guilty pleasure. What season are you on?
DeleteEasy weekends are the best! Love the little piggies on the girls - too cute!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I wish they would let me do them more often!
DeleteThose dresses look so cute on the girls!!!! Perfect for summer - especially with those little pony tails :)
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect for summer. I wish the girls would keep their hair in the piggies and let me do that more often.
DeleteEvery time I see pictures of Tahoe I am always amazed by how gorgeous it really is! I saw that watermelon dress at my store, but they were out of Zoe's size. I need to order it online. I like the back of the star dress too! The girls hair looks so cute up!!! I tried to gather the front of Zoe's this morning to pin back but she wasn't having any of it. She has angsty teenage boy hair right now lol.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly beautiful. The water is crystal clear and the sand is sooo soft. But it is cold. ha. You should get the dresses. They are soooo cute on. My girls love them and now I want to buy more dresses. Ha. My girls pull their hair out within 5 minutes. I hate that, so I usually don't do it. They used to love getting their hair done.
DeleteI love that you can just pick up and head to the beach for the day! I love their dresses ad the pigtails are too cute! Sounds like a great easy weekend!
ReplyDeleteUs too. And we bought a state park pass, so we can go whenever we want. I love that! I love it too. I wish they let me do it more often. That is why we cut their hair. ha.
DeleteThose photos of the beach are surreal - like a beach imposed onto a mountain back drop. I know it's a beach but with it being so blue and clear I can't quite believe it (as you know our lakes are kind of grey most of the time). Sutton and Avery look so pretty and happy to be in their new dresses - adorable! :))
ReplyDeleteThis is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. It is crystal blue and soft sandy beaches. Awe thank you so much!
DeleteLove this laid back summer weekend of yours. My goodness those girlies are just getting cuter and cuter by the second sweet mama!
ReplyDeleteThey truly are. Just sooo stinking cute!
DeleteVery cute dresses! Love the lake pictures.
ReplyDeleteMe too and thank you so much!
DeleteThat first photo of the girls is so adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteLooked like are pretty great weekend.
I haven't started watching the new season of The Affair yet.. I usually wait for a ton of eps to accumulate so I can binge.

Thank you! It was a great weekend. Oh the new season is really good. I wish I could have waited like I did with season 1, but I am hooked!
DeleteWe started the staircase over the weekend too but barely made through one episode LOL! I know about that case from watching Dateline but I still want to watch! Love the girls dresses and I can't get over how gorgeous Lake Tahoe is!!!
ReplyDeleteOh no. You didn't like it? Or just tired? It is good and I remember hearing about it when it was on Dateline. I watch a lot of Dateline. Ha. Love crime stories. And thank you. The girls are growing so fast and just getting cuter and cuter.
DeleteIsn’t that watermelon dress so cute? I love both of the dresses you guys got!
