ONE. I am finally getting around to reading Lauren Graham's Talking as Fast as I Can. We all know how much I LOVE Gilmore Girls and Parenthood (only 5 episodes left), so I don't know why it has taken me this long to read Graham's book. Have you read it?
TWO. This past weekend, I went shopping and I bought myself a lot of pretty little things. I was going into the trip thinking I needed sandals, work tops and maybe a purse if I found one cheap enough. Well I got everything but the sandals and I spent a lot more on the purse than I thought I would, but Kate Spade. Ha.
I can't find the Kate Spade bag online nor can I find anything from Loft that I bought. I bought a soft pair of beach draw string shorts, a tie up black tank top and a buttery soft pink top. From J Crew, I bought these three items.
THREE. The terrible twos are no joke and I hear three isn't much better. I feel like we are barely surviving over here. I often wonder how one has more than one child after surviving the terrible twos. Either you have your kids so close together that you don't hit the toddler tantrums until after your second is born or it was so awful that you forget about it and still have another child.
Phew. We have been doing more timeouts than I can count. And I find myself thinking that I don't like my children right now. I love them something fiercely, but that doesn't mean I have to like them all the time. It hurts my mama heart to think that way, but this stage is rough.
I now understand all the memes with kids throwing fits. I also understand the Instagram posts with the wine glasses being filled to the brim.
Toddlers are hard.
I am linking up with April, A Little Bit of Everything, Karli, Meet @ the Barre and Cup of Tea.

FOUR. Did you see my favorite make up products that I posted yesterday for this month's Girl Chat? If not, check it out here and see my favorites and some of my favorite bloggers favorites.
FIVE. Have any of you heard of microblading? It is a "procedure" where you cut the area in your eye brows to make them fuller, perfectly shaped and darker. My cousin has it and I am intrigued by it, but the thought of basically tattooing make up on me scares me.

I still haven't gotten around to reading her book, or any of the other half dozen books on my shelf for that matter, but I really want to!
ReplyDeleteCute tops!! How I heart J.Crew! I read the LG book earlier this year - I expected more (I think my hopes were too high?) but overall I couldn't NOT read it, because #GilmoreGirls and #LaurenGraham. Those memes had me rolling - lol! Happy Friday :)
ReplyDeleteOh the terrible twos are no joke. My friend's little girl is 3 and still has it. She is so cute but oh man she does not listen to anyone. I feel your pain. The do grow out of it, it just takes time and alot of patience. You are a great Mom!! Don't let it get you down.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it but I think the 3's are worse. The bad thing with twins, they gang up on you & wear you down. Hang in there momma!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just finished that book and I loved it! I love how she wrote in her own voice. It's almost like you're having a conversation with her!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Danielle! Maybe the girls will be extra good for you this weekend. ;o)
I actually just heard about micro blading this week and the girl I talk to about it said it scared the crap out of her. Not sure it's worth it but I am intrigued as well. I know it's tough right now some days, but my goodness are those girls ever blessed to have you! Happy Mother's Day beautiful! Oh and I love the tops you got!!
ReplyDeleteThat is what I am feeling on it. I am intrigued, but scared. Thank you so much mama. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day as well!
DeleteI totally empathize with the feeling of not liking your children sometimes. Sigh. Happy Mother's Day!!
ReplyDeleteI loved Parenthood but have never was a diehard Gilmore Girls fan. I read Graham's fiction book but wasn't a big fan. I remember the rough toddler years. You will get through it....and if it takes a big glass of wine, then so be it! Whatever helps! Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI love that pineapple top that you got! Ugh, most days I think three might be worse. And in a few months I'll have a two year old and a three old, and basically I'm doomed. But wait, you have two two year olds so I think you might win. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing Mother's Day <3 Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I haven't read her book either?! I'm a huge Gilmore Girls & Parenthood fan too! Happy Mother's Day! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. I am late to the game on reading it as well. So far, so good.
DeleteKate Spade was having a sale on Hautelook or something else this week. I looked and looked. It couldn't pull the trigger! The prices were pretty though!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the 2's are so rough for you guys! I totally feel your pain and lately have been thinking how I don't like my Avery very much hahahaha. I feel bad thinking that but I obviously love her to death, she is just driving me insane lately. Thank goodness for bedtime and wine :) I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day regardless and I'll have a drink for you! xo
ReplyDeleteThose tops are SO cute! I haven't read Lauren Graham's book yet, but I'm adding it to my list now!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you know I totally feel you on the terrible twos. And I'm sorry but threes are definitely worse. Ugh! But it does get better. I've been through it once already and this too shall pass. We can do it!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by microblading too! Everyone who has it done looks great but I haven't bit the bullet for myself yet! I want to read that Lauren Graham book!
ReplyDeleteI like those memes about the terrible two's haha!
ReplyDeleteCaitlin, Beauty & Colour
They are too funny right?
