Weekending

Today's post is coming at you very late in the day. Reason...we had the girls' 15 month check up this morning. The girls are growing fast and are in the 50th percentile for height (S: 30 3/4" A:30 1/8") and weight (S: 20 lbs 13 oz A: 21 lbs) and their heads are about 95 - 97th percentile. They got two shots each and we were on our way (after some questions and their exams).

Back to our weekend which flew by in an instant. Friday after work, I tried to find the girls hats for Mexico and had no luck, so we ordered some on Amazon (with my sisters prime account). Then we grabbed lunch and let the girls take a much needed nap. That evening I met up with a fellow twin mom for some consignment sale items (tags, price stickers, etc). We picked up pizza that evening, so we could watch the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball championship game (CBI tournament), which they won!!! Side note: this is the first championship that a Mountain West team has ever won. It may not be the big dance, but they played hard this year. Go Pack! I also started sorting, tagging and pricing the girls items we want to sell at the end of the month. SO.MUCH.WORK.
 Sutton's Friday face
Avery's Happy Hour (water after a long walk)

Saturday, we grabbed breakfast and then I had to take my car to the smog shop. Yes, we have to get our cars smog checked when they are 2 years old. Stupid. And then I stopped by the car wash for a much needed wash. The day was spent running errands (Costco, grocery store), taking long walks with the girls and pup and putting together the girls dresser we bought at Ikea.  The good news is we had all of the parts in the three boxes (unlike the one box stool that had duplicates). The bad news is it took us 4 hours to put it together. The girls had their nap time for two hours of it and then it was 2 hours of putting it together and trying to entertain them.

Check out that cute belly she is rocking!!!

That evening we grilled a tri-tip and paired it with rice and steamed artichokes. It was a really good meal and it was only $27 in total. A steal. I spent the rest of the evening watching shows and doing more tagging, pricing and putting baby clothes on hangers.

Sunday, we went to breakfast again and then did some major house cleaning. Both inside and out. I like to come home to a clean house after vacation, so we really cleaned up. I also made the girls these muffins (Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins). They are a hit with both the girls, my husband and I.

We took another long walk (the weather was in the low 70s all weekend), played at the house and did laundry. That evening I made the Roasted Veggie Pita with Avocado Dip that I mentioned in Friday's post. And let me tell you, we LOVED them. We didn't have pitas on hand, so we used naan bread and it was so good. Definitely something we will be adding into the rotation.

We capped off the evening with baths for the girls and more tagging and hanging clothes for the consignment sale.

We had a great weekend. It was quick, but full of sunshine!

How was your weekend?

I am linking up with Biana today.

    1. It is hard, but both Rory and I have to go to the appointments. I have taken both girls by myself before and it is hard. Even harder now that they aren't in their bucket seat carriers. Oh I love applesauce muffins. Do you have a recipe you could share so I can try them with my girls?

    1. They went well and the girls wanted more of the medicine. So weird, but they like the taste. They got cranky towards bedtime, but mostly because their schedule was messed up from their appointments being so close to nap time. Fail on our part, but they are happy girls today.

  7. That's the worst part about ikea furniture- I remember picking up some stuff for the nursery there and it was a BAD idea trying to assemble it all while 34 weeks pregnant and my husband was on a work trip. Oof. Need to try that dinner recipe- it looks delish!

    1. Ya I always regret getting Ikea furniture but then it turns out like the dresser did and I am happy with it. So sometimes it's a win and sometimes it is a fail. It was soooo good. You need to try it.

    1. Haha, thank you. I can't believe she is finally getting some weight on her. I see babies that are 15 months and have chunk and I wanted that for my girls. And now they are getting it.
