Guest Post - The Very Best Summer Cocktail

Ladies, today I have Lindsay over at Lindsay's Sweet World guest posting for me today. Lindsay is a mama of two beautiful children, Jacob and Olivia, a wife to Brian and a full time working woman. Hey y'all! I'm Lindsay and I blog over at Lindsay's Sweet World. It is such a pleasure to be blogging over here in Danielle's little corner of the internet today. I've been following along with her for some time now, so it's really freaking awesome to be doing a post for her. Plus, this just so happens to be my very first guest post ever, and I'm really honored to be doing it here!

I thought it would be fun to post about something that would put y'all in a beachy and summery frame of mind since Danielle is currently in the land of sand, sun, and margaritas! That lucky girl! Every Spring, when the warm breezes start blowing, the flowers start blooming, and the sun starts setting a little later each night, I get the itch to trade in my usual red wine for a cold, crisp cocktail. I live in the south (I'm sure you probably already realized that from all of the y'alls) and y'all (see, there it is again!), it gets hot down here! So cold cocktails and ice cold beer are our drinks of choice during those sizzling summer months.

There are tons of drink recipes on Pinterest that I've been wanting to try, so I took this as an opportunity to DRINK ALL THE COCKTAILS! Just kidding. But I did make one of the recipes, and you guys, I think I have a new favorite.

Enter the Vodka Strawberry Lemonade

Use It
Small saucepan
Blender

Buy It
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vodka
Ice cubes
Strawberries for garnish (optional)

Make It

1/ Combine sugar, water, and strawberries in the saucepan and simmer until sugar dissolves.

2/ Pour mixture into the blender and puree until smooth.

3/ Add lemon juice, water, and vodka and mix well. 

4/ Serve over ice in cocktail glasses and get drunk enjoy.

Thank you Lindsay for sharing this amazing recipe. I love vodka (it's my favorite liquor) and I love strawberries, so this is right up my alley. I can't wait to make this and enjoy it on a hot Spring/Summer day. And those wine glasses are to die for. I love glitter and sparkle everything and must have these or make them.
